This lengthy quest allows you to speak the dragon tongue. This language is necessary to receive the Fire and Ice and Deception quests from Lord Nagafen. You need Giant Speach (Giant Idols in Thundering Steppe) to complete this quest.

1) Go into the ravine outside the entrance to Maidens Gulch. Have someone that is below 59 run to the other end and 'Sebir the Historian' will spawn. Talking to him will allow an an extra option at the Maiden's gulch door (Maidens Gulch-Rescue of the Sage). Select this one.

2) Kill Drakota Vyr'drais the Vicious his mean helper and two easy helpers. After whacking them head to "Sage of the Ages". You will receive a lvl 50 hallmark Quest - "To Speak as a Dragon"

3) Now you must venture deep Solusek's Eye to Nagafen's Lair. Once you are on the narrow walkways and near the elevator with Giants on them head straight across the first big open pad where the Lieutenant spawns. Continue into the house (near Searing Ember) and take the elevator up. Head along the path passing through multiple "houses". Head past the Glassblower's room and past where you can start the Bastion access quest. At the far end of the cave and past a final narrow walkway is a cliff. Carefully drop down the cliff ledges and eventually onto the lower walkway. The Oratorium of Thyr is at the end of the walkway.

4) If this is your first visit to Nagafen's Lair you will be zoned into a group instance of Oratorium of Thyr where you will have to fight your way through level 50^^ mobs and finally the Firelord. Whoever hails the Firelord will be banished to a cage so plan accordingly. After the battle zone out and head up the steps and click on The Gong of Ro to enter Nagafen's Lair.

4) Once inside Nagafen's Lair. Hail the Giant to advance the quest. He will then tell you to look for another sage somewhere's in Antonica. ** You MUST have giant language completed or else that giant won't respond to you! **

5) Head to the top of the Oracle Tower in Antonica and speak to Sage of Ages on the top floor. He then sends you to collect 26 runes scattered all over Norrath without a clue as to where to find them!! (My hat goes off to the original solver of this quest!) For the rest of us here are the locations of the runes (in speed order from Qeynos):

The Aerr Rune in Stormhold is this book

Vee - South Qeynos - Green teleporter in Mage Tower, under steps ( /way 700, 80, 125 ).
Aerr - Stormhold - In the library on the bookshelf on wall across from the door ( /way -125, -25, -140 ).
Phar - Thundering Steppes - Behind shop counter (Ambassador Sandor) in Thundermist ( /way 610, 0, -85 ).

The Rett Rune in belisk of Lost Souls

Sissthra - Obelisk of Lost Souls - South of Zone. Turn left after Nihility room. Take second hall on right. Antheneum of Shadows, west wing. Scroll by candle ( /way -430, 395, 245 ).
Rett - Obelisk of Lost Souls - South of Zone. Turn right after Nihility room. Last tunnel on left drop to the cabinet ( /way -430, 370, 330).

This is the Rakta Rune. The Trena Rune is in a similar position

The Tal Rune is under the table

Tal - Rivervale - A book under the table in House of Circles. N.B. Deathfist will ambush after you leave house ( /way -830, -5, -110 ).
Kor - Runnyeye - Next to a banner and a clickable chest in room with Runnyeye B quest fairy ( way -70, 0, -95 ).

The Sev Rune can be tough to get to.

Sev - Runnyeye - Goblin Banker room on way to Boss room ( /way 60, -10, -15 ).
Nak - Solusek's Eye - Deep deep in. Under table outside glassworker / Lord Crana room ( /way -255, -515, 95 ).
Fyrm - Solusek's Eye - Scroll on table of Lord Crana room. N.B. Had to 3rd person view to target ( /way -315, -515, 125 ).
Dar - Fallen Gates - In the 2nd house in the 2nd Marketplace near Zombie Mastery book ( /way 170, 20, -85 ).
Fen - North Freeport - 2nd Floor of Library South of the Sewers ( /way 5, 5, -115 ).

After you are finished collecting all the runes you need to return to the Sage in Antonica. You are now able to speak the dragon language. You are now able to speak to Nagafen. This will open up the Fire and Ice quest (see related quests).
